The Firm's History
|
The firm began practising from Clements Inn, the Strand, as 'Payne, Harper & Co' and was admitted to the Society of Incorporated Accountants and Auditors (a forerunner to the modern ICAEW) in March 1895, and quickly built a solid, professional reputation.
Jack Broom oversaw the development of the firm through the 1950s and '60s.
In 1977 the firm, 'Harper Broom Roberts', began to operate two offices: the existing office in Holborn and a new office in Maidenhead.
Today Harper Broom is based solely in Maidenhead, but retains many of its London clients. The town's proximity and good transport links to London means that HB is well-placed to service its clients in London and elsewhere.

This year HB Dobbin announced the sponsorship of a local ladies' netball team, Exiles. Company director Michael Broom believes that supporting local teams can give a real morale boost to all involved and helps to form strong partnerships in testing times.

Harper Broom is committed to reducing its impact on the environment. A major source of waste in accountancy firms is the use of paper: we aim to minimise our use of paper and recycle all our paper waste.
